The beginning...

Our adventure begins at the original Room Service where an amazing little aquarium was found. It was immediately evident that this purchase would be a project; the original sealant was a 50 some-odd year-old crumbling mystery pitch covered by a goopy layer of after-market silicone. Obviously an equally nostalgic soul had previously found our aquarium to be a worthy project, but failed at the attempt.
Optimistically, or perhaps foolhardily, I dreamt of picking up where the last rescuer had left off and returning the artifact to her former glory. I imagined a fine layer of sand, goldfish with bulbous eyes and and flowing tails and perhaps mini-palm tree or two, a little bit of aquatic life right on my kitchen bar.
The first attempt at rehabilitation was unsound. Unfortunate leaks were evident.
Professional advice was sought at Deep Blue Aquariums. The experts were equally concerned for the fate of my precious relic: as advice was tendered, they stroked her like a much-loved feline.
After much painstaking effort, the second attempt has been made. With bated breath and sea-dreams, I wait for the sealant to dry and my leak-free dreams to come true. Those goldfish could still be mine.
But if it doesn't work this time, I'm getting some rocks and a spider!
